May Madness!

SHS Varsity Alumni Basketball Jamboree
Silverton Rotary Club is sponsoring the fourth annual “May Madness” Varsity Alumni Basketball Jamboree at Silverton High School this Saturday, May 19, from 5-8 p.m. Men’s and women’s players from the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s will be playing in a jamboree style format, with a Future Foxes Team playing an exhibition game.
Other activities that night include a $500 Half-Court Shot sponsored by Brent Satern of Country Financial, as well as a 3 Point Contest, open to anyone who would like to enter (for a $10 donation).
The oldest alumni participants this year are Doug Roth (’85) and Mary Purdy (’89). They will be joining 67 other former SHS Varsity players for a very entertaining evening of basketball. Among the other alumni participating are: Greg Riches, Jon Horter, Jeff Sanford, Brett Davisson, Scott Von Weller, Ryan Gengler, Brent Satern, Kyle Day, Andrew, Taylor, and Davis and Jason Martin, Ben Rue, Stu Butsch, Carter and Dawson Gould, Taylor Burton, Tyler Bellando, Hank Ulven, Katie (Bothum) Kuenzi, Ngan Savage, Leti Wetzel, Jennifer Bingham, Elizabeth Carr, Serenity (Ragone) Haines, Mary Steers, Courtney (Bothum) Teigen, Kelly (Milliron) Satern, Elise (Kuenzi) Trask, Kelsey Palmer, and KayLynne Kuenzi.

Silverton High School would like to announce the hiring of two new coaches in our wrestling program. STRYDER DAVIS has been hired as the head coach and JESSE DAVIS has been hired as his assistant. Both coaches come to Silverton after coaching in South Salem’s wrestling program. Dean Dreher has voluntarily stepped down as the head coach due to his work schedule and will continue to volunteer as an assistant with the program.
