Athletics

We promote the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of all students through athletics, while educating student-athletes in the areas of effort, leadership, and teamwork.
The Silverton coaching staff is excited about the upcoming sport seasons where our student/athletes will be displaying their athletic abilities, sportsmanship, and work ethics. Athletes learn to balance a busy schedule and are encouraged to participating in a variety of sports. Upon conclusion of an athlete’s high school career it is imperative that he/she takes the lessons learned in sports and apply them to their every day life experiences.
Athletics are designed to provide a program that will enhance a student athlete’s character while aiding in the individuals physical, mental, and emotional development. Members of each team are expected to accept responsibility for their actions and enjoy the privilege of playing for Silverton High School and the Silverton community. Athletes are to treat officials and opponents with respect as well as accept both victory and defeat with pride and compassion.
Our coaching staff work diligently to provide a fun and competitive atmosphere while emphasizing determination and character regardless of a win or loss. Coaches are determined to develop individuals and team to reach their maximum potential and set a good example for their team and fans to follow. Participating in athletics and having the opportunity to play for our coaching staff will make you a better person and establish life long values that you will remember for the rest of your life.
Our fans are expected to respect the judgments and decisions that are made by our coaching staff. Parent and fans need to be positive role models and support those that are playing, officiating, and coaching. Silverton fans should develop a community reputation for good sportsmanship. Please support our teams with energy and enthusiasm.
