PSAT Testing Schedule

PSAT Test – Fall 2009 – Wednesday, October 14, 2009

(Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)

The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical reading, math problem-solving, and writing skills developed over many years, both in and out of school.  You won’t have to recall facts from literature, history, or science, as this test measures your reasoning and critical thinking skills.

The PSAT is a practice for the SAT I.  It is also used as a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program, the National Scholarship Service and used in designating students for the National Hispanic Scholar Recognition Program.

The PSAT Test is offered to college bound juniors and sophomores during the fall.  Registration and fees for the test are payable to the bookkeeper on the Schlador Street campus.  The cost of the PSAT is $13.00.  The College Board makes fee waivers available to school for student from low-income families who can’t afford the test fee—talk with your counselor.  Contact Chris Hampton (ext. 3744) or Sue Fisher (ext. 3763) at 503-873-6331 for further information.
