Jennifer Krug joined the Athletic Department at Silverton High School as the Certified Athletic Trainer in the fall of 2009. She previously worked 11 years as the Head Athletic Trainer at Corban College (formerly Western Baptist College), in Salem, Oregon. A graduate of Corban College, Krug returned to the Salem-based campus in 1997 as the Head Athletic Trainer after completing her Masters of Science degree in Health and Fitness Promotion at Portland State University.
Krug spent four years at PSU while working on her master's degree. She began with the Vikings as a Student Trainer from 1993-95 before moving up to a Graduate Assistant in 1995-97. Krug worked with the football, wrestling, women's basketball, and tennis teams and supervised Student Athletic Trainers. Krug served with the soccer, volleyball, softball, men's & women's track & field, men's & women's cross country, baseball, men's & women's soccer, wrestling, and golf teams while at PSU.
Prior to her time at Portland State, Krug was a member of the women's volleyball team at Corban College (formerly Western Baptist). Krug played two seasons of women's volleyball for then head Coach Tracy Smith, appearing in 195 games. The two-year starter recorded 488 kills, 21 assists, 33 service aces, and 78 blocks (17 solo, 61 assist). Krug was named team Most Valuable Player and NAIA District II Player of the Year following her 1990 junior season.
Krug worked at the Portland Ale-Lacrosse World Invitational from 1995-2001, as well as serving as an Athletic Trainer at the Portland State University basketball and volleyball camps during the summer of 1995-96. She has also worked the Lance Armstrong “Livestrong” Challenge events and Nike World Master’s Games.
Krug graduated from Corban College in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education and earned her Master's degree in Health Education in December of 2000 from Portland State University. She holds professional memberships with the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Northwest Athletic Trainers Association, as well as being certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification in February of 1997. Krug also is currently licensed by the State of Oregon Health and Licensing Agency as well as being CPR/AED certified. She has been a member of the Oregon Athletic Trainers Society for the past twelve years, as well as serving as the Elections Committee chair for the past seven years. Krug is also on the medical staff for the US Fencing Team traveling to national and international competitions.
Krug, who is single, currently resides in Salem with her German Shepherd, Glennie. During the summer, she works as a King Salmon fishing guide in Alaska.
