The end of the school year is fast approaching and seniors are busy with many activities and class work. Please see the attached calendar for important dates and reminders for the last few months the Class of 2012 will spend with us here at SHS!

State Bowling Champions!

Silverton boys Bowling team are the State Champions. They competed over the weekend in Bend and beat Oregon City in the final match for the title. The team was undefeated in match play until the end. They lost one to Oregon City then came back and beat them in the 2nd game and won by total pins (7).

The team averaged 214 for the first 14 games and continued to average over 200 for the rest.

We also had State all stars. Daniel Holden was one and the MVP was Derek Johnson.

Congratulations Morgan Anderson!

Morgan Anderson signed with Oregon State University on Thursday, February 16th. Morgan signed a letter of intent to run both Cross Country and Track with the Beavers. Morgan's athletic scholarship coupled with academic monies will nearly cover her schooling at OSU.

Congratulations on your success and the rewards for all your hard work Morgan!

Silverton High School Senior Project Introduction

The Senior Service Learning Project at Silverton High School serves as a capstone to each student's high school experience, as well as a bridge across the gap between High School and College or a Career.

Julian Canda and Torrey Rogness Sign with Western Oregon University

National signing day for football was an exciting day at Silverton High School!

Football standouts Julian Canda and Torrey Rogness both received partial scholarships to attend WOU as members of the Wolves Football Program. Their dedication in athletics, time in the weight room, focus in the classroom, and leadership among the student body all contributed to their high school success. In addition to football, these 3-sport athletes have also found time to excel in Basketball and Track and Field. Congratulations to both student-athletes on their accomplishments and best of luck in the future as college football players.

Congratulations Torrey Rogness

Congratulations to Torrey Rogness for being selected by the Oregon Athletic Coaches Association to play in the 2012 Les Schwab Bowl. Torrey was chosen out of all Oregon’s 5A and 6A football players to represent his school, community, and football program in this classic North vs. South match-up. The Les Schwab Bowl will be played Saturday, June 23rd at 6:00 pm at Hillsboro Stadium

MCDONALD’S All American High School Basketball Team – Nomination

o    If selected on February 9th, Haley will play in the McDonald’s All American Girls Basketball Game on March 28th at 6:00.
